This song was offered first to Kishore Kumar, but the script required One
of the important characters to say that jaya's character is a better singer
than amitabh's character at the end of the song. After learning this, KK
gracefully declined. then the song was offered to Rafi who did such a
wonderful job of it that people wanted the script changed as the male
singer is as good, if not better than the female singer.
