Rafi was an unknown singer when this song was being recorded while
NoorJehan was top singer at that time. Music Director was very doubtful
whether she would sing with this teenager. But not only NoorJehan recorded
this song without any problems she also praised Rafi Sahab and wished him

Very good old song of yesteryear.This became a hit and I used to listen the
song on an old spring gramophone. As stated Rafi sahib was not known then
and this gave him a much needed break. He came up soon and with Baiju Bawra
became a famous singer. There was no looking back for him for next 20 years
and tide changed for him after 1970 with rise of Kishor.This was also a
great hit for Madam Noorjehan.
