yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati bharat
abhyuththanam dharmasya tadatmanam srijamyaham
paritranaye sadhunam vinashay cha dushkritam
dharmsansthapnarthay sambhvami yuge yuge

When Dharma's light begins to dim, O Bharat's soil,
And shadows of unrighteousness entwine and coil,
Then I arise, a whisper in the echoing void,
A self-creation, by the world employed.

For those who walk the righteous, I shall be their shield,
And for the wicked, their destruction revealed.
To set aright the Dharma, broken, torn, and lost,
In every age, my presence, at what cost?
