The God-child, the light of Devaki's womb,

His Maya, a boundless mystery.
One form, a worker, enchanting Mohan's guise,
He holds an infinite form before our eyes,

Narayan, in human form, He chose to be,
Yet remains beyond the world, eternally,
Lord of Yadavas, the gatekeeper of Dwarka's grace,
Dark-hued Shyam, the dancer of the sacred space.

My inner Lord, the soul's deep core,
None can cross the shore of His lore,
Bound to His strings, we all reside,
Bound to His strings, across worlds wide,
The threads of three worlds, intertwined.
On the flute's call, the three worlds dance and sway,
Men and women, in joyous array,
One Lord, the gatekeeper, Shyam, delight of the grove.
