Tretayug Ki Baat Batau - त्रेतायुग की बात बताऊ
Lyrics of Tretayug Ki Baat Batau - त्रेतायुग की बात बताऊ
tretayug ki baat sunau
godavri nadi tat par
ram lakhan sita rahte the
panchvati tha unka ghar
are devi sita ke kahne par
ram chale hirna lane
kau samajh nahi pave
yah leela keval yug jane
leela keval yug jane
lakhan laal pahra dete the
ram bhatkte the van me
hirna dikha raha tha chhal bal
ram naam sumre man me
are mrig se phir maarich ho gayawa
ter lagayi ha lakshman
dhire se shri ram kaha
aur tayaga nich apawan tan
tayaga nich apawan tan
maiya sita ghabrai
aur boli lakshman se vani
sankat me hai tumre bhaiya
jane vighan kya thani
are lakshman rahi rahi samjhave
tu dhiraj raakho maat yaha
kchh na hoiye bhaiya ko
sankat kaisa jab ram waha
sankat kaisa jab ram waha
kriya hat se haare lakshman
baan se ek khinchi rekha
dhanush baan le chale veer bar
par ram chaavi antar dekha
ram chaavi antar dekha
mata na rekha langhna
main ja raha raghuwar jaha
jo bhi nikat aaya
chita jal jayegi uski yaha
chita jal jayegi uski yaha
chita jal jayegi uski yaha
sudh budh kho baitha sikander
dekh rup ki khan siya
aankhe chundhiya gayi ravan ki
par chhal bal ne jaga diya
are sadhu bhesh me tha lankapati
sita thi bholi bhali
bhiksha dene ko hatho me
kandmul phal le aayi
kandmul phal le aayi
kapti ravan bola
main kaise bhiksha lu bandhi huyi
bahar aakar bhiksha do
ya main jata hu rupmayi
are sakuchayi sita pahle
devar ke vachan yaad aaye
phir dekha sita ne sadhu
alakh niranjan dohraye
alakh niranjan dohraye
bin bhiksha ko liye
kahin sanyasi ghar se chala gaya
apyash hoga raghukul ka
socha bahar pag badha diya
jhapat kar fenka kamandal
tham sita ko liya
boli tadap kar jaanki
re dushat aate hai piya
garaj kar ravan hansa
dharti ki chhati dolti
vivash sita ro rahi
ha ram raghuwar bolti
ha ram raghuwar bolti
hath pakad kar apne rath par
sita ji ko bitha liya
hath haans karta lankapati
ab lanka ki or chala
ab lanka ki or chala
ab lanka ki or chala
sita haran huyi gawa bhaiya
par ya dharti nahi fati
kadam kadam par ravan baitha
aaj hu sita jaat hari
bin dus shish ke kitne ravan
ab bharat me ghumat hai
tan ke ujre man ke kaale
ab samaj ma roj puje
ab samaj ma roj puje
kitni baar jara yah ravan
par rati bhar jala nahi
yah funke te ka hoiye
jab tak na janmehi ram kahin
jab tak na janmehi ram kahin
jab tak na janmehi ram kahin
jab tak na janmehi ram kahin
jab tak na janmehi ram kahin
jab tak na janmehi ram kahin

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Tretayug Ki Baat Batau - त्रेतायुग की बात बताऊ
In an age of old, Tretayuga's grace,
By Godavari's shore, time and space,
Rama, Lakshman, and Sita fair,
Dwelled in Panchavati, beyond compare.
At Sita's request, a task begun,
Rama sought a deer, by the setting sun,
None could grasp the truth, the depth untold,
Only the ages, the story hold.
Lakshman stood guard, his duty clear,
Rama wandered, banishing fear,
The deer's deceit, a deceptive art,
Rama's name, etched within his heart.
From the deer, a transformation's guise,
Maricha's cry, beneath the skies,
"Lakshman, Oh Lakshman," the plea resounds,
Rama's voice, as the deceit surrounds.
Sita, distressed, her spirit frail,
Spoke to Lakshman, a mournful wail,
"Your brother in peril, what fate has spun?"
What shadows of hardship have begun?
Lakshman sought to reassure,
"Have patience, Mother, your heart secure.
No harm shall befall, with Rama's might,"
A force of nature shining so bright.
Duty-bound, Lakshman, his spirit sore,
Drew a line, a sacred door,
Taking bow and arrow, he sets out to find,
But in Rama's image, a different kind.
"Do not cross this line, so it be told,
Where Raghuvar waits, brave and bold,
Whoever draws near, with deceit in their heart,
Shall meet the flames, and soon depart."
Bewildered, lost in desire's maze,
Beholding Sita's ethereal gaze,
Ravana's eyes, with lust ablaze,
Deceit and trickery, in a wicked haze.
In a holy guise, the king of Lanka,
Sita, innocent, her spirit frank,
Offered alms with a gentle hand,
Roots and fruits, in the promised land.
Ravana, the cunning and sly,
"How can I receive, if you're bound nearby?
Step outside, and offer your grace,
Or else, I depart from this sacred place."
Hesitation, then a moment's pause,
Remembering her brother-in-law's laws,
Sita saw the sage, his words a prayer,
"Alakh Niranjan," echoing in the air.
Without alms, the holy man departed,
Raghukul's honor, cruelly thwarted,
Stepped outside, her spirit to free,
A moment of weakness for all to see.
With a swift grab, the vessel he hurled,
Ravana seized her, in the world,
"Oh, wretched one, your husband's near!"
A heart-wrenching scream, of purest fear.
Ravana laughed, the earth did shake,
Sita wept, her heart did break,
"Rama, Raghuvar," she cried in pain,
A lamentation, a sorrowful rain.
Seized her hand, to his chariot he led,
Sita taken, her spirit shed,
The king of Lanka, his will to fulfill,
Toward Lanka he traveled, with wicked thrill.
Sita's abduction, a brother's deep plight,
Yet the earth didn't shatter, in the fading light,
Ravanas abound, at every turn,
Sita, today, in the hearts that burn.
With ten heads, how many Ravanas roam,
In India's landscape, seeking a home,
With darkened minds, and bodies of gray,
Their worship continues, day by day.
How often, this Ravana's been slain,
Yet the embers of evil, still remain,
What use is burning, when the fire is weak?
Until a Rama is born, we cannot speak.
