Suno Suno Ae Duniya Walo - सुनों सुनों ऐ दुनिया वालों
Lyrics of Suno Suno Ae Duniya Walo - सुनों सुनों ऐ दुनिया वालों
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
wo bapu jo puj hai itna jitna ganga maa ka pani
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
paurbandar gujrat desh me ek rishi ne janam liya
maat pita ne mohandas karamchand gandhi naam diya
bachpan khel kud me gujra london jakar vidya payi
barister ban africa me jakar apni dhak jamai
lekin wo prani duniya me amar kahane aate hai
wo kab maya moh me fanskar apna samay ganwate hai
suno suno ae duniya walo
bapu ki ye amar kahani
africa me hindi jan ki badi durdasha payi
gore raaj se takkar lekar satay ki jyot jalayi
phir bharat ki sewa karne apne desh me aaya
sabarmati me satayagrah ka aashram aan banaya
aur khilafat conference me sabhapati ka darja paya
islami adhikar ki raksha main bhi hath bantaya
hindu muslim dono uski aankho ke taare the
duniya ke sare hi majhab bapu ko pyare the
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
bharat kaumi congress ki aisi dhum machayi
kaumi jhande ke niche phir janta daudi aayi
khadi ka parchar kiya phir ghar ghar khadi aayi
aur videshi maal ki holi gandhi me jalwayi
charkhe ki aawaz jo gunji huyi machine thandi
aur shan se lahrayi bharat ke tirange jhande
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
wo bapu jo puj hai itna jitna ganga maa ka pani
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
phir puran sawraj ka nara ja lahore pukara
aazadi ka veer sipahi kabhi na himmat hara
phir dandi par jakar apne hatho namak banaya
sare desh ko satyagrah ka sunder sabak padhaya
bharatwasi japte the phir gandhi naam ki mala
chalis karod dilo me chhaya ek langoti wala
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
sacchai ka atal pujari jisne kabhi na himmat haari
sarkari kanun todkar duniya ke aaram chhodkar
desh ki khatir jel gaya aur apne sukh pe khel gaya
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
harijano ka maan badhane ki khatir vrat kiya
gandhi ne duniya ke aage ek naya mat rakha
gaanv gaanv me harijano ki halat dekhi bhali
harijan naam se har sewak ne ik akhbar nikali
congress ki baag dor phir veer jawahar ko dekar
shuru kiya bapu ne apna gram sudhar ka chakkar
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
ek nayi aawaz jo aayi shuru huyi ek nayi ladayi
gunja phir bapu ka nara chhodo hindustan humara
chhodo hindustan humara
phir aayi ek jel yatra jelo se kab darta tha wo
aazadi ka parwana tha aazadi par marta tha wo
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
wo bapu jo puj hai itna jitna ganga maa ka pani
hindu muslim ke sino me phir bhadki nafrat ki jwala
jisko dekh ke dukhi hua quran aur geeta ka matwala
nawakhali me khun ki holi haiwano ne kheli
daya ki murat bapu se ye pida gayi na jheli
tan pe langoti hath me danda hontho pe thi prem ki vani
nagar nagar paidal firta tha assi saal ka budha prani
suno suno ae duniya walo bapu ki ye amar kahani
son saitalis pandrah august ko aazadi ka din jab aaya
apne desh me apna jhanda dhumdham se lahraya

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Suno Suno Ae Duniya Walo - सुनों सुनों ऐ दुनिया वालों
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright,
A love as deep, as the Ganga's flow, bathed in pure light.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
In Porbandar, Gujarat's heart, a sage did take his birth,
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, named by his parents' worth.
Childhood games and youthful days, then London's learning call,
A barrister's degree, in Africa, he stood up tall.
But those who rise, to timeless fame, in this world's fleeting stage,
Are not ensnared by worldly ties, nor waste their life's brief page.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
In Africa, the Indian plight, a heavy burden bore,
Against the white man's cruel decree, truth's radiant light he wore.
Then to his homeland, he returned, to serve with all his might,
In Sabarmati's ashram, he sparked the Satyagraha's light.
And at the Khilafat's conference, a presidency he claimed,
For Islamic rights, he stood in love, his heart never ashamed.
Hindus and Muslims, both his gaze, his guiding stars did gleam,
All faiths upon this earth, were held within his dream.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
The Indian National Congress, its banner bravely flew,
The people rallied, to its call, a loyal, hopeful crew.
Khadi's call, he spread abroad, khadi in every home,
And foreign goods, by Gandhi's hand, to ashes did become.
The spinning wheel's resounding song, silenced the machine's roar,
And India's flag, with pride unfurled, forever to adore.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright,
A love as deep, as the Ganga's flow, bathed in pure light.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
For complete self-rule, the slogan cried, from Lahore's vibrant call,
A warrior of freedom, never yielding to a fall.
Then Dandi's shore, where salt he made, a symbol bold and free,
And taught the nation, Satyagraha's blessed decree.
India's people chanted, Gandhi's name, a mantra in their hearts,
A loincloth clad, a simple man, in forty crore's parts.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
A truth's unwavering devotee, whose spirit never waned,
Breaking laws of tyranny, leaving comforts far behind,
For his nation's cause, to prison went, on sacrifice he leaned.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
To uplift the untouchables, a fast he bravely took,
Gandhi's new vision, to the world, a different path he shook.
Village to village, he saw their plight, their suffering he knew,
From the name of Harijan, a paper, a servant's view.
The Congress's reins, to Nehru's hands, with grace he did impart,
And Bapu started then, his village's new start.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
A new voice arose, a fresh battle's start,
Gandhi's cry echoed, "Quit India!" tearing the land apart.
"Quit India!" resounded loud, and then the prison door,
He knew no fear, for freedom's call, he would forever soar.
Within the prison, destiny's arrow, took its cruelest aim,
Bapu's wife's demise, a final call, a sorrow's mournful flame.
In silent prison, her pyre did ignite, the sacred fire's gleam,
The people's grief, a mother's last sight, a lost and broken dream.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
In Hindu and Muslim hearts, a hatred's fiery blaze,
Which saddened Quran and Gita's voice, in these turbulent days.
In Noakhali, a bloodbath reigned, by demons' wicked hand,
This suffering, from Bapu's heart, he couldn't understand.
A loincloth clad, a staff in hand, on lips, a love's soft plea,
Through every town, he walked the earth, an eighty-year-old free.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
In forty-seven, the fifteenth of August, freedom's dawn appeared,
Our flag aloft, with joyful cheers, our nation's hopes revered.
But on that day, dear Bapu, India's light so fair,
Far from Delhi, in Noakhali, the weak and frail to care,
His life he gave, for those in need, in service he did hide.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
In Calcutta, a fast he kept, to heal the rift and mend,
Bapu's miracle, the hearts of all, to love and peace did bend.
From Calcutta to Delhi's streets, he raised the city's grace,
Each dawn and dusk, the name of Ram, in every home's embrace.
Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram, Ishwar Allah tere naam,
Bapu's foundation, his creed and claim, his everlasting fame.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright,
A love as deep, as the Ganga's flow, bathed in pure light.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright,
A love as deep, as the Ganga's flow, bathed in pure light.
Hark, all ye of the world, a tale of Bapu, forever bright.
On January's thirtieth eve, from Birla's house, he came,
Towards the prayer ground, his steps, a gentle, sacred flame.
But destiny's hand, changed its cruel face, on that fateful day,
And violence's bullet, upon non-violence, did lay.
Bapu whispered, "Ram, Ram," and from this world did depart,
To Ram's own temple, his beloved, did go to take his part.
Go, Bapu, go, your name shall live, in every heart's refrain,
As long as stars and moon shall shine, your work shall still remain.
Bapu, your life, a precious gift, your death, a noble art,
You gave your blood, for love's own light, to illuminate each heart.
Victory to Bapu, victory to Gandhi, let all of us proclaim,
Who bound together, Hindu and Muslim, in love's eternal claim.
Remember Bapu's story, let us never let it fade,
The light he kindled, let us tend, and brighter make its shade.
Victory to Bapu, victory to Gandhi, let all of us proclaim.
A love as deep, as the Ganga's flow, bathed in pure light.

@BharatGul . Oh, never mind. I see from your tag that it is Rajinder
Krishan's poetry. Didn't notice it at first.

As I recall there were two records of 78 RPM at home, and I was just crazy
about this song when I was little, kept on asking to play them over and
over again. Still, every time I play this, it gives me goose bumps and
brings tears in my eyes. Everything is so perfect about this song/ bhajan.
In our home, we all loved Bapu Ji enormously. Thanks Ajay.

Since my childhood, I used to listen to this great patriotic song every
year on 2nd October from AIR. But of-late with the advent of TV and high
pitch of numerous channels, this immortal song eulogizing life of an
immortal saint of all times, got lost. Really thanks a lot for uploading
this song.
