Lyrics of Sathiya Sathiya, Maddham Maddham Teri Ye Gili Hansi - साथिया साथिया, मदधम मदधम तेरी ये गीली हसी
saathiya saathiya, maddham maddham teri ye gili hansi
saathiya saathiya, sun ke hamne saari pi li hansi
hasati rahe tu hasati rahe, haya ki laali khilati rahe
julf ke niche gardan pe, subaho shaam milati rahe
hasati rahe tu hasati rahe, haya ki laali khilati rahe
julf ke niche gardan pe, subaho shaam milati rahe
sondi si hansi teri, khilati rahe milati rahe
pili dhup pehanke tum, dekho baag me mat jaana
bhanware tumko sab chhedenge, phulo me mat jaana
maddham maddham hansde phirse, sona sona phir se hansde
taaja gire patte ki tarah, sabj lawn par lete huye
saat rang hain bahaaroke, ek ada me lapete huye
saawan bhaado saare tumse, mausam mausam hansate rehana
maddham maddham hasate rehana
saathiya saathiya, maddham maddham teri ye gili hansi
saathiya saathiya, sun ke hamne saari pi li hansi
kabhi nile aasmaan pe, chalo ghumane chale ham
koyi abrr mil gaya to, jamin pe baras le ham
teri baali hil gayi hai
kabhi shab chamak uthi hai, kabhi shaam khil gayi hai
tere baalo ki panaah me, iss siyaah raat gujare
teri kaali kaali aankhe, koi ujali bath utare
teri ik hansi ke badale, meri ye jamin le le, mera aasmaan le le
saathiya saathiya, maddham maddham teri ye gili hansi
saathiya saathiya, sun ke hamne saari pi li hansi
barf giri ho vaadi me, un me lipati simati huyi
barf giri ho vadi me, aur hansi teri gunji
un me lipati simati huyi, baat kare dhuva nikale
garam garam ujla dhuva, naram naram ujala dhuva
saathiya saathiya, sun ke hamne saari pi li hansi
hasati rahe tu hasati rahe, haya ki laali khilati rahe
julf ke niche gardan pe, subaho shaam milati rahe

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Sathiya Sathiya, Maddham Maddham Teri Ye Gili Hansi - साथिया साथिया, मदधम मदधम तेरी ये गीली हसी
My companion, my companion, the dampness of your laughter, a gentle sway,
My companion, my companion, hearing it, we drank the whole day.
May you forever laugh, may you forever bloom, the blush of modesty,
Beneath your tresses, upon your neck, morning and evening, a meeting decree.
May you forever laugh, may you forever bloom, the blush of modesty,
Beneath your tresses, upon your neck, morning and evening, a meeting decree.
Your earthy laughter, may it bloom, may it meet, and eternally be.
Clad in the yellow sun, do not wander into the garden's maze,
The bees will tease you, do not linger among the floral haze.
Laugh softly, laugh once more, golden, again, let the sound ignite,
Like a fresh-fallen leaf, upon a verdant lawn, bathed in light.
Seven hues of spring, entwined in a single grace, a vibrant fight.
Through monsoon's torrent, through every season, laugh, and shine so bright,
Laugh softly, laugh softly, and take flight.
My companion, my companion, the dampness of your laughter, a gentle sway,
My companion, my companion, hearing it, we drank the whole day.
Upon the azure sky, let us wander, let us roam,
If a cloud should find us, let us descend and make the earth our home.
Your earring sways, a mesmerizing gleam,
Sometimes the night has shone, sometimes the evening beams.
In the shelter of your hair, let this dark night be unfurled,
From your dark, dark eyes, let some bright truth be swirled.
For a single laugh of yours, take my earth, take my sky,
My companion, my companion, the dampness of your laughter, a gentle sway,
My companion, my companion, hearing it, we drank the whole day.
In the valley, where the snow has fallen, enfolded and entwined,
In the valley, where the snow has fallen, and your laughter is enshrined.
Enfolded and entwined, as words unfurl like smoke,
Warm, warm, bright smoke, soft and bright, a gentle stroke.
My companion, my companion, hearing it, we drank the whole day.
May you forever laugh, may you forever bloom, the blush of modesty,
Beneath your tresses, upon your neck, morning and evening, a meeting decree.

I really hope Bollywood would evolve like what's happening in the West
where songs are much more popular than movies today. When that happens,
Sonu Nigam will be more popular than Shah Rukh Khan. Sadly Indian singers
have been sidelined and moved to the backstage for a long long time. We all
know our singers are much more talented and better in what they do than our
actors even since Rafi Saab's time. So let us hasten the change by giving
more support to our singers.

@praka419 You have some serious issues bro. Firstly, I am a huge fan of
Sonu Nigam. But I honestly the feel of the song is better reciprocated in
Tamil, at least in my opinion. And I don't even understand Tamil. The song
seems much more melodic when sung by Hariharan. South Indians have nothing
wrong with them, nor do North Indians. Some face ideological issues. But
you for sure need some sort of psychological treatment.

Hariharan sung this song in a Tamil movie before this. That was
spectacular, I thought any remake of the song would can never ever be
equally good. But Sonu blew away my thoughts with this. It looks as though
this song was made in heavens for him. I'm just glad that he won the
Filmfare for this.

I like this one, but I gotta say I like the original Tamil song and
picturization better. Don't get me wrong, I really like Sonu, but I prefer
the different pitch of the singers from the Tamil one. And to me the
picturization in the Tamil one seems much more relaxed and romantic than
this one.

I beg to differ from those who say the Tamil version is better.. so many
pepl here said that its better, so i searched that and saw... The Tamil
actress ( I don knw the name) is no match for Rani... Madhavan of course is
better "in general" from Vivek... he is a really good actor. But
picturization? well this one is too good.. I request everyone (who havn't
seen the Tamil version) to see the other song and tell their views... There
is no matches for Sonu Nigam at least today in India...
