Lyrics of Pativrata Siya Purushottam Shri Ram - पतिव्रता सिया पुरुषोत्तम श्री राम
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
siya ram ki kahani suno humari jubani
haum dono kare unko parnam
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
kathin din the panchvati ke
surpankha mohit hui un pe
lakshman ne surpankha ke
nak kan kat diye pal me
ravan fir krodh me aaye
jake sita ko har laye
jab ye suna ram ji ne
hanuman lanka padaye
lanka sagar ke hai par
huye udane ko taiyar
hanuman chale leke prbhu nam
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
varlap sun janki ka
hanuman ne jake dekha
ashok vatika me wo baithi
karuna me dubi thi sita
anguthi jo sath laye
sita ji ko batalaye
jispe likha hua tha shri ram
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
hanuman lanka jala ke
shri ram ke pas aaye
nahuman lanka jala ke
shri ram ke pas aaye
sugariv apne sang me
banar sena leke aaye
badal yudh ke fir chhaye
setu sagar pe banaye
vijay karn chale lanka shri ram
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
pativarta siya purushottam shri ram
yudh hua fir bhaynkar
saty ban dhar ke dhanur par
das shish kate ravan ke
harshit huye devta nar
sita ji ko lekar aaye
agani pariksha karwai
pariksha badi thi vichitar
sita mai ji thi pavitar
kiya kaisa ye anyay
log karne lage haye
kiya kaisa ye anyay
log karne lage haye

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Pativrata Siya Purushottam Shri Ram - पतिव्रता सिया पुरुषोत्तम श्री राम
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma,
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma.
Hearken now, to their saga, from our very tongues,
To both, we offer our humble namaskāra.
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma,
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma.
The days in Pañcavaṭī, a trial of fire,
Śūrpaṇakhā, her heart consumed by desire.
Lakṣmaṇa, in a moment, swift as a dart,
Severed her nose and ears, tearing her apart.
Rāvaṇa, with fury, his darkness unfurled,
Abducted Sītā, from this shattered world.
When Rāma heard this sorrowful plea,
Hanumān to Lankā, set forth, to be free.
Across the ocean, Lankā's shore,
He prepared to leap, to soar and explore.
Hanumān, with the Lord's name, took flight,
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma.
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma.
Hearing Jānakī's lament, a mournful sound,
Hanumān searched, where grief was profound.
In Aśoka's garden, she sat, alone,
Drowned in sorrow, a heart of stone.
The ring he bore, a sacred sign,
To Sītā he gave, a hope divine.
Upon it, the name of Śrī Rāma,
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma.
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma.
Hanumān, Lankā ablaze, burning bright,
Returned to Rāma, with all his might.
With Sugrīva, and the monkey horde,
An army of strength, the tale explored.
Clouds of war then gathered above,
A bridge across the ocean, built with love.
To vanquish Lankā, Śrī Rāma did prepare,
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma.
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma.
The battle raged, a fearsome sight,
Truth's arrow loosed, in the fading light.
Ten heads of Rāvaṇa, severed and gone,
Gods and mortals, rejoiced in the dawn.
Sītā, brought back, to her rightful place,
A trial by fire, to prove her grace.
A test so strange, a heart so pure,
Sītā, a saint, forever to endure.
"Such injustice!" the people cried,
"Such injustice!" as tears they hide.
"Such injustice!" echoing far,
Agni, the fire, bows to her star.
Agni, the fire, bows to her star.
Devoted Sītā, the noblest Rāma.
