I used to hear this song in my chilhood, around 1969. Saw the video for the
first time today. it is the first instance i am seeing actor Asit Sen
singing a song on screen. It is probabbly the only song picturised on him.
The last para I think was not there in the records which were played on
radio years back. Anyway this video took me to those childhood days. thanks

raazeewe Ji: Million thanks for this GEM by Mukesh, I have never seen the
movie and also never heard this song in England. But today after nearly 40
years I found it. It brings back lovely memories of my childhood in Punjab
a very long time ago. I miss those wonderful days

Another interesting thing I would like to share with fellow viewers is that
in my childhood I heard a very funny parody of the initial lines of this
very popular song in those days. The children in my neighbourhood in Delhi
used to sing "Meri saas ke bawan bachchey, Kale, Gore, Chittey, Are sab ke
sab Halwai, meri lut gayi saari kamaai. In english it may be translated as
" 52 children of my mother-in law, blacks & whites, all of them in
confectionary line, I lost all my earnings on them"
