lo aaj hamane tod di_aa rishtaa-e-ummid
lo ab kabhi gilaa na karege kisi se ham

When we walk, even our shadow deserts us,
When you walk, earth and heavens move.
When we halt, the candle of helplessness freezes,
When you pause, spring and moonlight linger.

This laughing bloom, this fragrant garden,
These paths submerged in color and light.

These bees drunk on the nectar of flowers,
What can I offer, oh, captivating sights?
All I possess are tears and sighs.

O, Sky-Dweller, cast your gaze sometime - twice.
Until now, we've endured these injustices in silence,
Weary we are, of life's relentless struggle.

Lest we reject the world in despondency,
Do not inquire about the despair of love,
We offer ourselves, bereft of all.

Grief-stricken, where would we find songs of joy?
