Ek Raje Ka Beta Le Kar - एक राजे का बेटा लेकर
Lyrics of Ek Raje Ka Beta Le Kar - एक राजे का बेटा लेकर
ek raje ka beta lekar udane wala ghoda
ek raje ka beta lekar udane wala ghoda
desh desh ki sair ki khatir apne ghar se nikla
udte udte chalte chalte thak gaye uske paon
udte udte chalte chalte thak gaye uske paon
ho ith jakar baith gaya wo dekh ke thandi chaon
ho ith jakar baith gaya wo dekh ke thandi chaon
itne mein honi ne apni bansi waha bajai
itne mein honi ne apni bansi waha bajai
jisko sunkar pariyo ki shahjadi daudi aai
ek raje ka beta lekar udane wala ghoda
desh desh ki sair ki khatir apne ghar se nikla
udte udte chalte chalte thak gaye uske paon
udte udte chalte chalte thak gaye uske paon
ho ith jakar baith gaya wo dekh ke thandi chaon
ho ith jakar baith gaya wo dekh ke thandi chaon
itne mein honi ne apni bansi waha bajai
itne mein honi ne apni bansi waha bajai
jisko sunkar pariyo ki shahjadi daudi aai
Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Ek Raje Ka Beta Le Kar - एक राजे का बेटा लेकर
A prince astride a steed of flight,
A prince astride a steed of flight,
Departed home, on journeys bright.
His hooves, they tired, soaring high,
His hooves, they tired, soaring high,
He sought respite, beneath the sky.
He sought respite, beneath the sky.
Then Destiny, its flute did play,
Then Destiny, its flute did play,
And fairy princess came that day.
A prince astride a steed of flight,
Departed home, on journeys bright.
His hooves, they tired, soaring high,
His hooves, they tired, soaring high,
He sought respite, beneath the sky.
He sought respite, beneath the sky.
Then Destiny, its flute did play,
Then Destiny, its flute did play,
And fairy princess came that day.

I used to imagine a beautiful pastoral setting for this song-- a group of
children gathered under a lush tree, with farm animals and flowering plants
in the backdrop, surrounding the singer. Despite the visual let-down, the
song remains magical.
