a beautiful composition by great Naushad and Gulam
Mohammad.. when this song was picturised Late Meena
Kumari was not in good health. the director then used another girl with
Rajkumar and therefore her face in the song is not shown anywhere.
..how beautifully it is
picturised with perfect expression on Rajkumar's face. and all credit to
Rajkumar who carried this song so beautifully without Meena Kumari.
.i love this movie and songs so much
that i have forgot the count how many times i have watched. though its very
personal feeling but still sharing...i somehow connect
with the feelings of this movie that not even my husband and family
understands. its beyond words.

Centuries will pass before another voice of such calibre, elocution and
style will be gifted to this planet again. No body could ever reach to
their heights. They had complete control in all sorts of variations in
singing. A naive pair, they could naturally justify the poetic lyrics and I
think the poets created these inspired by their voice as they could imagine
their creations just as the composers did, Lata & Rafi Sahib are immortal
and their art will be remembered.(1st February 2011)

there are two three songs where Rafi sings only the title words but stanzas are sung by his co-singers. One example is this, Rafi is just beautifully singing chalo dildar chalo and no stanzas. He also does alaap saying o oo also. Then in the song from C.I.D.of Dev Anand, Rafi again only sings Ankhon hi ankhon mein ishara hogaya, this shows his extremely accommodative spirit and sacrificing mind. He would integrate in any manner so that the song ultimately comes out brilliantly well.
