I went in search of wickedness, but found none,

But found none, no wickedness at all.
When I searched within, I found the worst of all,
The self, the burden, the shadow.

This is the house of love, it is, it is,
Not a playground, not a casual space.
Sever the head and place it at the feet,
Only then may one enter this sacred home.

Who is the fortunate bride who finds her bliss?

Whom the Lord protects,

Love, no love, is a game to be played,
Love, no love, is a commodity for sale.
Kings and emperors may crave it,
But must surrender their heads to find it.

The instrument plays its constant song,
But none can hear it save the Beloved's message.

Kabir called the Vedas, Kabir called,
And, holding them, examined their hand.
The Vedas knew not, knew not the secret,
Deep within the heart the wound remains.
