Hello. I was about 5 years old, when I found out that Tun Tun was Uma Devi. She was a very good singer. She was there b4 Lata. Her evergreen song is "Afsana Likh Rahi Hoon" from Dard 1947. Naushad promoted Uma as much as he could. Her draw back was that because of her weight she did not have control on her breathing while recordings. Other than that, she recorded duets with K.L. Saigal, Mukesh, Rafi and my other leading male singers. Manna Dey's first song was a det with Uma.
