Within me, still, a flicker remains,
A thread of life, though thin it strains.
Awakened pulse, a new-born beat,
I live, I know, though shadows meet.
A longing blooms, in this, the now,
A moment lost, I clutch somehow.
To touch this grace, so close at hand,
To die, or live, upon the land?
To kiss the joy, or weep my fill?
To die, or live, against my will?
And within me, still, a breath remains,
A whispered life, through sun and rains.

A burning form, in sun's harsh blaze,
Finds shelter in the leafy maze.
A child's lost laugh, a tearful plea,
Then coaxed to bloom, for all to see.
My heart it feels, as though it knew,
Old wounds, of years, now healed anew.
A balm is spread, upon the sore,
A tender touch, forevermore.
This moment holds, a strange embrace,
A time once lost, now time and space.
To touch this grace, so close at hand,
To die, or live, upon the land?
To kiss the joy, or weep my fill?

A kite adrift, a broken string,
Such was my life, a fleeting thing.
Today, or gone, the morrow's call,
Each day a tale, before the fall.
A new chain binds, a beckoning call,
From futures bright, beyond the wall.
Why does this fear, my spirit seize?
Of what will be, and how it flees?

A sting I feel, in this, the now,
