Lyrics of Aap Aaye To Khayaala-Ye-Dila-Ye-Naashaad - आप आये तो ख़याल-ए-दिल-ए-नाशाद
aap aaye to khayaala-ye-dila-ye-naashaad aayaa
kitane bhoole huye jakhmon kaa pataa yaad aayaa
aap ke lab pen kabhee apanaa bhee naam aayaa thaa
shokh najaronse mohabbat kaa salaam aayaa thaa
umarbhar saath nibhaane kaa payaam aayaa thaa
aap ko dekh ke wo yehad-ye-wafaa yaad aayaa
ruh mein jal uthhe, buzatee huyee yaadon ke diye
kaise diwaane the, aap ko paane ke liye
yoo to kuchh kam naheen jo aap ne yehasaan kiye
par jo maange se naa paayaa, wo silaa yaad aayaa
kitane bhoole huye jakhmon kaa pataa yaad aayaa
aap ke lab pen kabhee apanaa bhee naam aayaa thaa
shokh najaronse mohabbat kaa salaam aayaa thaa
umarbhar saath nibhaane kaa payaam aayaa thaa
aap ko dekh ke wo yehad-ye-wafaa yaad aayaa

Poetic Translation - Lyrics of Aap Aaye To Khayaala-Ye-Dila-Ye-Naashaad - आप आये तो ख़याल-ए-दिल-ए-नाशाद
Your coming woke the heart, a shadowed plea,
Forgotten wounds, a haunting memory.
You came.
Upon your lips, my name, a whispered grace,
A lover's glance, love's greeting in that space.
A vow to journey through time's embrace,
Then, seeing you, old oaths, a solemn plea.
Forgotten wounds, a haunting memory.
You came.
Within my soul, dim lamps began to gleam,
The price we paid, a fevered, lost dream.
So many kindnesses, it would seem,
But prayers ungranted, now they rise to me.
Forgotten wounds, a haunting memory.
You came.
The past is gone, yet something lingers near,
This fleeting meeting stills my heart's despair.
Though claimed by other, beauty's presence here,
Alas, old grievances, they surface free.
Forgotten wounds, a haunting memory.
You came.
You came.

Mahendra Kapoor has playbacked well. Ravi 's music no words. Sunil Dutt
acts well and Mala Sinha portrays her emotions well. But above all, it is
the lyrics that carries this song to a masterpiece level. So good are they
, actually the story line is told in the song itself and that too in a very
poignant manner.

@laddoo aap aaye to khayal e dil e nashaad aaya means aap ko dekhte hi wo purani yadein taaza ho gayin jinhone dil ko dukhi kar diya.
Nashhad means dukhi aprasanna karna

@laddoo69: Dost, khayal-e dil-e-nashad means " Dil ke dard ka khayal"
i.e. "Remembrance of heart's pain". Not exactly confirm on 'nashad', but it certainly one out of "Pain/gloom/sadness".
