Anil Biswas was of course the doyen of HFM composers, and how well he used
the western instrument, the Piano, in so many of his songs. He hardly
needed to use many other instruments...Young Lata's voice of course
takes away one's heart; this is the voice the whole nation fell in love
with. As Shri Kiran Deep commented, the pronunciations sound quaint since
early in her career Lata had to copy the way preceding stars like Noor
Jehan pronounced words. Just two or three years later she sounds different,
having developed her own style.
