@girish613 -- Actually her career started moving upwards post Hero ...she had a massive hit with all the songs of lal dupatta malmal ka (88), hit songs with mahasangram 89. earleir hits in ram lakhan (bekadar), tezaab (keh do ke tum & tum sridevi ko nachao), meri jung (aye mere khayalon ke). she won her 1st filmfare award for khayyam's umrao jaan (85). True that Aashiqui and Dil in 1990 established her as a top singer, but Hero changed her from a secondary singer to the leading lady's voice :)
