What's WRONG BEING DARK?????? DO you know white people spend hours and
hours everyday in tanning booths and risk ultraviolet rays and skin cancer
just so that they can be tan. GOSH, I hate this mentality. I'm an Indian
and I can't believe people in India STILL want to be fair.

White ppl do tanning becoz they have layer1 & layer2 skin types. They do tanning so that they can match layer3 skin types which are usually spanish ppl color. Chinese and 25% indians come in layer4 skin type and majority of indians are layer5, followed by africans layer6. so, there is some sense in tanning they do like most indians want to look fair.

Yeah Right!!! Chinese people are WAYYYYY lighter than Mexicans and Spanish
people. What are you talking about? Have you seen South American people?
They are as dark or may be at the most a tiny shade lighter than Indians. I
know that some of the South Indians might be darker, but most of India is a
tiny bit darker than mexicans. And Chinese people are basically white.

May be I m wrong in citing spanish example..but may be italian or other country in europe comes at layer3 type, a little fair than chinese. My opinion is that white ppl do tanning to look like layer3 skin type as too white is also not great. Similarly, indians have mentality of looking fair is not to look like layer1 blonde skin type, but layer3 skin type.
