' rahega ishq tera.' from this song was copied by the lyricist Shailendra himself in another song (hum haal-e-dil sunanyege) of his in Madhumati, as this film was produced by him only.

nice song. Waheeda is timeless so is lataji but the dance is boring

Considering the limited options of set and situation, I think she has done a great job...in other words, a 'waheedaic' job :)

Another haunting melody by team SJ!

vaheeda ... lata . great !

@tonynaso
Waheeda 's played character of a nautanki dancer in the movie. It was a deliberate move by the director to keep the dance as simple (Waheeda improvised all the moves herself without chorographer) to make it look more authentic.

This song is really beautiful,melodious.The film was released in 1966_67.Poet Shelendra (lyricist)was producer of the film ,was the biggest flop,he died soon after. film story was based on a Hindi master piece novel "Teesri-kasam"written by Faneshwar Nath "Renu".

@chandrashekharjain
Bhaiya actually i also didn't like the film when i saw it so many years back. But i think now i can like it because of it's simplicity and awesome music and songs.
Waheeda ji's kids attended same school where my son went. She is very, very graceful and i found her very content person. She greeted me with her awesome smile.W.R. Didi.

Teesri Kasam (1966) had beautiful songs. Synergy with Shailendra, Shankar
Jaikishan and singers is evident. It was of course landmark movie. And, to
view Waheeda Rehman in dance number is memorable experience. Thank you for
beautiful song with excellent video presentation.

Isn't it the saddest thing that this good movie with an imaginative theme,
with a star cast and with such beautiful songs flopped and bankrupted
Shailendra, the lyricist- producer? Audience vagaries take their toll in
the most unpredictable ways. Thanks, Suhanee.
crazyoldsongs on Friday, May 18, 2012
very true ! i think this is the only song i have come across where
shailendra has used so many words of urdu ? normally his lyrics are in
simple hindi ! but very lovable ! i was just remembering this song today !
thank you suhanee !
crazyoldsongs on Sunday, May 20, 2012
i think this is the only movie where four female singers have sung for
waheeda ji ! that is lataji , asha bhonsle , suman kalyanpur and mubarak
beghum !
rumahale on Monday, May 21, 2012
Very interesting information - I had forgotten for a while. Of course I do
not remember the Mubarak Begum song - please provide me title. I am
familiar with other songs. It also reminds me SD Burman using different
singers for a single star. Regards.
