as a lover's tears - that sink so deep into the heart that only your soul
can do the crying for them. The lyrics, the music, the vocal expression
have the power to create beauty, even, out of the stuff that makes us weep.
As Lata Ji sings this song, her lamenting voice seems to tear apart the

Such a beautiful and melancholic song that I hadn't heard before. Minimal
use of instruments was so appropriate for this emotional song. Lataji could
sing without any instrumental support and sound even more melodious and
beautiful, especially when she was not required to sing at higher notes and
octaves. Thanks for sharing the video with me and uploading this rare song,
COSji. Somehow, I missed this upload; it has been hectic for me, as well.

In that case you should hear the other song by Lataji in the same film with
the mukhra " Yeh afsana nahin..." . It is reputed to be the first and
perhaps the only song in Hindi films which was sung WITHOUT ANY INSTRUMENTS
