"Dada had a regal personality, the way he walked, talked, his postures and
his actions were all impressive. He always dressed in white Kurta Pyjama,
gold buttons, a solitary diamond ring. And he had a skin that glowed.
Talking of his white kurta-pyjama reminds me his clothes were always
impeccably white but there would always be little paan stains. It was for
him that Shailendra had written 'Paan khaye saiyan hamaro...' The second
line was added to the lyric followed by 'hai hai mulmul ka kurta, mulmul ke
kurte pe chint lal lal...'
He was so happy that he had inspired a song. I had sung the song for him
too. But due to some problems the song was later given to Shankar-Jaikishan
for 'Teesri Kasam'.
