hi jesus .. INdia has too many languages and cultures.. hindi is a
commonality as in you will atleast be able to speak to most people in
india... but you wont be able to understand anything what say tamil ,
keralite, kannada, goan , bhojpuri , bengali, marathi and many other
languages are all about I cant understand a word of it either and im indian

I'm not asking if one could understand all the other Indian dialects by
just knowing Hindi, but if it would make it easier to learn those
languages. Alas, I suppose your statement does answer that as well.
