It's an eery feeling that whenever I listen to Mukesh's voice off the
screen, the image that instantly emerges in my mind is that of Raj Kapoor,
not of Mukesh himself ! The two were long inseparable as if they were
invisibly joined at the hip. Although Mukesh sang for other actors too, he
and RK jointly triumphed at home and abroad in ways not equaled in their
