@thankapettamanushyan I don't know why people have to compare one great
performer with the other to praise or express respect to the artist they
love? I know Rafi was a superb singer, but Kishore Kumar was no less
versatile! Just imagine replacing the voice of Kishore with Rafi in the
greatest hits by the former, especially in RD Burman's songs...you'll get
the answer. Please don't make comparision between singers, they are not
atheletes!!!

Kishore was a brilliant singer with a resonating voice and is a personal
favourite of mine, but Rafi had the edge in vocal range, modulation,
classical rendition, that extra emotional touch to a song. At that time
Rafi sung in more different styles than any other singer! Rafi has sung
superbly from Classical renditions, Bhajans, Ghazals, Qawalies, Rock &
Roll, Cabaret, happy, sad, children songs, etc etc etc right to Disco !!!
He sang in more languages than any other male singer in that era.
