It's not so. human beings can hold their breath for not more than a minute,
and that too, only superbly trained vocalists. This song is extremely
well-sung, but equally well-edited. nobody can sing this song , live,
without pausing for even a fraction of a second. Shankar ji himself has
never sung this song live without briefly pausing to catch his breath.

Please don't get me wrong. Shankar Mahadevan is my favourite singer of the
present day. There are very few playback singers who are capable of the
vocal wonders he is capable of. But here , I am not pointing out "his"
limitations, I am just pointing out what is "humanly" impossible. When
recorded in a studio, the minute gasps for breath can be easily eliminated
from the track. Only when it is sung live, without any scope of
computerisation, one has to depend only on one's vocal capabilities.

If you see the live video where Shankar ji sings "Breathless" , you will
understand that singing comparatively breathless is easier when the tempo
is faster. Also, if you watch closely, you will see him taking small
breaths. I completely agree with your point: "but to take breath in parts
of second and continues the song is also a talent" but can't agree with :
"song is also not computized" . It is not computerised in a live show, but
in a recording , it always is.
